How we collect, use, share and protect your personal data when you visit our site, enquire about a programme, or enrol with us.
Varsity by InterviewBit ("Varsity", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the control you have over it.
Varsity by InterviewBit is an education initiative operated by Scaler / InterviewBit (the "Company"). For the purposes of applicable data protection law, the Company is the data controller for personal data collected through our website and programme operations, except where an institute partner acts as a separate controller (see Section 6).

We collect the following categories of personal data:
We use personal data to:
We process your data on the basis of your consent, to take steps at your request before entering a contract, to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services. Where we rely on consent — for example, for certain marketing — you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed with:
Varsity programmes are delivered together with premier institutes (for example, the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi, and IIM Trichy). To process your application, deliver the programme and issue certification, we share relevant data with the partner institute, which may process it as a separate controller under its own policies and statutory norms. Certification is issued by the partner institute as per its criteria. No placement, job or alumni-status outcome is implied by sharing your data.
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, to remember preferences, and to understand and improve how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser and, where offered, our cookie controls. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described here — to serve your enquiry, deliver a programme, meet legal and partner requirements, and resolve disputes — after which we delete or anonymise it. Retention periods vary by data type and obligation.
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encryption in transit, and vendor due-diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to nominate a representative. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@varsity.example. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in our emails.
Our programmes and site are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the age of majority without verifiable parental or guardian consent as required by law. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
